VFW Post 10818 is seeking funding to purchase building materials for the construction of the Freedom Park Center. Post 10818 has already secured over half of the $4.3 million total budget through grants, donations, and other contributions. Contributions of building materials are also welcome, as a tax-deductible donation.
Royal Credit Union Foundation recently provided an anchor gift of $500,000. The local community has donated over $300,000 to the project.
Labor and equipment will be provided by the U.S. military through its Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) Program. This unique partnership provides skilled personnel who work with local contractors, at no cost to the project. Over 1000 soldiers will work on the construction, learning valuable skills toward successful careers. The IRT will contribute over $2 million to the construction, as a 100% match to cash donations and in-kind contributions of building materials.
