With service to veterans and to the community as its highest priority, VFW Post 10818 maintains collaborations across many veterans organizations and service providers in St. Croix County. VFW Post 10818 is a leading member of the network of VFW Posts in Wisconsin and works closely with the state VFW, its foundation (the 501c(3) for this request), national VFW offices and the Department of Defense IRT program. The Post coordinates its many services to veterans with the local county Veteran’s Service Office, with local hospitals, and with the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.
The VFW has formally adopted and provides services to two local, active military units: the 652nd Engineer Reserve unit in Hammond, WI, and the local National Guard unit-Bravo Company of the 128th Infantry currently housed in the New Richmond Armory.
The City of New Richmond is a primary partner in the Freedom Park Center, as is the Senior Center, which will move its services from its current temporary location to the Center. Post volunteers work regularly with the New Richmond schools, youth sports associations, and Boy Scouts. VFW members collaborate with – and offer special recognition to – local police, fire and rescue organizations.
